On May 15, Dr. Arnold Epley, professor of music and director of choral studies at William Jewell College since 1982, will conduct his last U.S. concert of the William Jewell Concert Choir at 7:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Liberty, 309 E. Dr. Epley was also director of the Kansas City Symphony Chorus for 17 years prior to his retirement from that position last fall.
On May 18, Dr. Epley will depart with the concert choir for his final performance tour of England and Scotland, a tradition he began with the Jewell choir in 1986. He has led the William Jewell Concert Choir in 26 American tours to 24 states, and to England and Scotland for nine concert tours. International performance venues have included the cathedrals of St. Giles, Ely, Lincoln, Durham, Coventry, Southwell and York; concerts in Grantham and Oxford, England; and St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London.
