Alumni and friends of William Jewell are invited to enjoy the holiday festivities sponsored by the College. All events are open to the public at no charge, except for the Harriman-Jewell Series event and Liberty Symphony (see information below). The holiday calendar includes:
Hanging of the Green, 10:15 a.m. November 30 John Gano Memorial Chapel, William Jewell College campus, Liberty An all-campus musical celebration, featuring the Flute and Handbell Choirs and the Jazz Band.
Lighting of the Quad, 7 p.m. December 1 Gano Chapel and Quadrangle, William Jewell College campus, Liberty A time of music and celebration of the season in Gano Chapel with the Symphonic Band, followed by a lighting ceremony on the Quad.
Jazz Band Christmas Concert, 7:30 p.m. December 3 Forbis Recital Hall, Pillsbury Music Center, William Jewell campus, Liberty
Christmas Festival, 7 p.m. December 9 Second Baptist Church, 300 E. Kansas, Liberty William Jewell performs a Christmas concert at Second Baptist Church in Liberty.
Liberty Symphony Orchestra Holiday Concert, 7:30 p.m. December 10 Liberty Performing Arts Theatre, 1600 Withers Road, Liberty Special holiday concert includes Nutcracker selections and “Sleigh Ride.” Go to www.libertysymphony.org/ for more information.
The City Come Again, noon December 12 Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, Broadway at 13th Street, Kansas City Jewell’s Christmas gift, in words and music, to the city, featuring the College’s Handbell and Concert Choirs, along with a seasonal homily from President David Sallee.
