Noël Coward’s classic comedy “Private Lives” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. April 27 and 28 at Peters Theater inside Brown Hall on the William Jewell College campus in Liberty, Mo. Tickets are priced at $5 and can be purchased on performance nights at the William Jewell College Theatre box office. Telephone reservations can also be made by calling 816-415-7590.
This production is a senior project directed by Ammie Brown of Longmont, Colo. The play is a sophisticated comedy about a rekindling love between two divorcees. Years after their failed marriage, each partner has started a new life with a new spouse. But complications ensue when they find themselves honeymooning in adjoining suites of the same hotel.
“Noël Coward is revered as one of the top-ranking playwrights of modern comedy,” Brown said. “His use of high drawing room humor has earned him literary respect world-wide. ‘Private Lives’ is a prime example of his signature writing style, and a masterpiece of theatrical comedy.”
