The William Jewell College Flute Choir will present a program Tuesday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Forbis Recital Hall in the Pillsbury Music Center. The program is free and open to the public.
The works featured are as follows: an arrangement by Dimitriy Varelas of Arrival of the Queen of Sheba Sonfonia from the Act III of “Solomon” by Georg Frederick Handel; a classical work originally for flutes, Quartet in D Major, op. 12, written by the Anton Reicha, a contemporary of Ludwig van Beethoven; a newly published work for three flutes and alto flute by Welsh composer Diana Sanders, The Alchemists’ Cauldron: Earth, Air, Fire, Water; Capricious Winds, commissioned by the Tokyo Flute Quartet in 2006, by Satoshi Yagisawa. Concluding the program will be Amazing Grace with pianist Tony Wang.
