Rejuvenated in an urban, modern society, this play tells the story of two young people who dare to love each other, despite the class and cultural barriers of their violently feuding families. A contemporary take on Shakespeare’s classic, timeless and popular love story is brought to life for a new generation.
The fall production is part of the 30th anniversary celebration of Peters Theater. Following the Nov. 22 performance, Professor Emeritus Dr. Kim B. Harris, who was instrumental in the design, development and execution of the theater space in Brown Hall, will be honored at the anniversary reception. The family and descendants of Garnett M. Peters, the namesake of the theater, will also be in attendance for the event.
