First-year students at William Jewell College will participate in a team-building experience as part of the student orientation process on Saturday, August 25. Classes for the fall semester begin on Monday, August 27.
The "Adventure Day" activities are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on the Liberty campus. They involve participation in a variety of team-building exercises on the college’s Tucker Leadership Lab, an “Outward Bound”-type challenge ropes course. The course is set up near the Residence Halls on the north side of the campus.
Other orientation weekend activities include a ceremonial first walk around the quad for new students between 2:45 and 3:15 p.m. on Friday, August 24. Students will be welcomed by Jewell faculty and staff lining the quadrangle in a ritual that is repeated on commencement day.
