Four William Jewell College students were recognized by American Humanics, Inc., for their excellence in academics as well as their involvement in the American Humanics nonprofit leadership student association and the community. Rachel Ibok, Krysten Waeckerle and Kara Teach each received the Next Generation Award. This award is sponsored by the Kellogg Foundation and recognizes the top American Humanics Nonprofit Leadership students in the nation. William Jewell currently leads all the 70 American Humanics campuses with 23 Next Generation Award recipients.

April Balsley, a 2007 Next Generation award recipient, was one of only 20 students to receive the American Humanics Academic Award.
