William Jewell to offer online paralegal certification program Contact: Rob Eisele, 816-415-7574 February 7, 2008
The Continuing Education Division of William Jewell College is stepping out of its traditional brick and mortar setting and entering the world of the online classroom.
“The shift to a technology-driven format offers greater accessibility and flexibility to busy working adults, making it possible to pursue the certificate while maintaining commitments to work and family,” said Dr. Steve Schwegler, Director of Academic Services and Associate Dean for Continuing Education at William Jewell.
Criminal Law, the first offering in the new format, will begin March 10 and run for eight weeks. Former Jackson County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jennifer Greenstreet, a graduate of William Jewell and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, brings her expertise to the class.
The entire paralegal certification program will go online in the fall of 2008, with five eight-week semesters during the year. Judge Rex Gabbert teaches the introductory course, as well as courses in litigation and trial practice and contracts.
