William Jewell’s Symphonic Band to perform Contact: Rob Eisele, 816-415-7574 April 1, 2008
The William Jewell College Symphonic Band will appear in concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 20 in John Gano Memorial Chapel on the college campus in Liberty, Mo. The concert is free and open to the public; tickets or reservations are not required.
Featured on the program will be Stephanie Bryan, trombone artist and teacher at William Jewell, performing Alexander Guilmant’s Morceau Symphonique, for trombone and band. Ian Coleman, professor of composition and chair of the music department, will conduct a movement of his recent work for band, Ortus. The band, under the direction of Phil Schaefer, will also present the contemporary works of David Gillingham, Eric Whitacre, Philip Sparke and Richard Saucedo.
