Jewell’s Hase named Apple Distinguished Educator
Apple is pleased to welcome William Jewell College Director of Teaching and Learning Technologies Heath Hase to the Apple Distinguished Educators (ADE) Class of 2019. In 1994, Apple created the ADE program to recognize K-12 and higher education pioneers who are using Apple technology to transform teaching and learning in powerful ways. Celebrating 25 years, the program has grown into a worldwide community of more than 2,800 visionary and innovative leaders in education, helping other educators rethink what’s possible with iPad and Mac.
Earlier this spring, Hase joined the staff of William Jewell, after serving as coordinator of Southeast Missouri State University’s EDvolution Center from 2016-2019, where his efforts were noted for using Apple technology to build learning environments for both students and faculty.
William Jewell College became an Apple Distinguished School in 2015 for its access to integrated technology and engaged learning. The Apple Distinguished School designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments.
“The integration of technology into learning environments encourages students and teachers to be critical thinkers, problem solvers and innovators – these characteristics are vital to a successful learning experience,” Hase said.
