William Jewell announces 2019 Homecoming plans


William Jewell College will host the traditions and excitement of Homecoming on Sept. 27-28.  

The Homecoming festivities will start on Friday, Sept. 27, with a free Back to Class lecture, a Celebration of Golden Classes and the Alumni Awards Dinner honoring Nancy Green Leisinger, ’52, John F. Truex Lifetime Alumni Service Award; Chris Leaver, ’94, Distinguished Alumni Service Award; Landon Grace, ’10, Young Distinguished Alumni Service Award; Heather Duncan, ’88, Jewell Humanitarian Award; and Kiki Strecker, Honorary Alumnus.

The events will continue on Saturday with the Nursing Excellence Alumni Scholarship 5K, a legacy student event, a celebration of 45 years of Nursing at Jewell, the John Priest Greene Society coffee and new member brick dedication, a pregame celebration hosted by the Alumni Board of Governors and the Cardinal football game. Several class reunions are also scheduled throughout the weekend.
