William Jewell College is among the top 10 Best Regional Colleges in the Midwest according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 Best Colleges rankings.

Jewell placed ninth on the Regional Colleges in the Midwest list, the highest placement of any Kansas City-area college. Jewell was also named 13th in the region for Best Value Schools based on academic quality and cost of attendance. The magazine also named Jewell in a tie for 39th in the region for Top Performers on Social Mobility, which is based on enrolling and graduating large proportions of economically disadvantaged students awarded with Pell Grants.

U.S. News & World Report has been ranking colleges and universities since 1983. Schools are placed into categories based on their academic missions and then ranked by weighted measures of a number of factors, including graduation and retention rates, social mobility, undergraduate academic reputation, faculty resources, class size, student excellence, financial resources, graduation rate performance and alumni giving rate.
