WSJ/THE ranks Jewell among top colleges
William Jewell College placed near the top third of the country’s best 968 colleges and universities according to the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education.
Jewell ranked 372nd on the overall list and also ranked in the top 100 of the Midwest region. Jewell ranked in the top 30 percent of institutions in the category of resources, which includes faculty-student ratio, faculty research and finance per student. The college was also above the median for both student outcomes and student engagement, based on a student survey and quantitative outcomes including the extent the college supports critical thinking, how learning is applied to the real world, challenging courses, graduation rate and value added to graduate salary.
The Wall Street Journal/THE overall rankings use a weighted formula of four categories made up of 15 indicators, including faculty-student ratios, faculty research, faculty/student interactions and more.
