Mortar Board

Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes seniors for leadership, scholarship and service and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community. The Panaegis Chapter of Mortar Board is an active honor society with monthly meetings and requisite service projects.

How can I join?

New members are selected in the spring semester through a tapping ceremony. Eligibility is determined by the top 35 percent grade point average of the class, and members are selected from students who have clearly demonstrated the hallmarks of Mortar Board: leadership, scholarship and service. Students should have at least 60 credit hours. Members are usually accepted only for the year in which they will actually graduate.

National Recognition

For several years, the Panaegis chapter of Mortar Board has received the Silver Torch Award, presented to the top chapters nationwide for accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership and meaningful service. The award is presented at the Mortar Board National Conference.
