11/13/2025
Money magazine has named William Jewell College to its “Best Colleges in America 2025” list for affordability and student outcomes. Money reviewed all four-year public and private colleges in the country—more than 2,400—then narrowed the list to the top 732 schools based on affordability and student outcomes.
The Best Colleges were assigned a rating out of 5 stars, and Jewell received a 4-star rating based on 24 factors in three categories:
- Quality – 30% (graduation rates, student-to-faculty ratio, GPA/test scores of freshman class)
- Affordability – 40% (net price, average debt, loan repayment)
- Outcomes – 30% (graduate earnings, economic mobility)
Money researchers write, “Our analysis of the country’s four-year colleges considers 26 data points, including graduation rates, cost of attendance and alumni salaries, to help students find a campus where they can get on a great career path without crippling debt.” The rankings also include such factors as instructor quality, Pell Grant recipient outcomes, student debt and repayment, socio-economic mobility index (students who move from low income to upper middle class by their mid-30s) and more.
