Contribute to a Global Society
Incorporating a traditional business curriculum with a liberal arts education teaches you to use intellectual, global and ethical resources to solve problems.
If you want to make an impact in the business world, Jewell is the place to be.
The Department of Business and Leadership provides a mix of professional experience and in-depth examination of business concepts. You will collaborate with seasoned faculty who have strong academic backgrounds and life experience. They challenge you to follow your passions while preparing you to make an impact in the business and nonprofit sector.
Our mentoring program encourages career exploration by connecting you with professionals in your field of interest, and networking helps you connect with local business executives, entrepreneurs and alumni on campus.
With our B.S. in business major, you will master these skills:
Marco Antonio Martinez Lopez used his Journey Grant for a summer internship at the Western and Southern Open tennis tournament in Cincinnati. Marco is now collaborating with a fellow intern from China to start a company that will connect international athletics to U.S. colleges.
Employers consider internships a key tool to identify and hire top entry-level candidates in an intensely competitive marketplace. In recent years, Jewell students have interned and started their careers at a variety of businesses and nonprofit organizations.
