New Student Orientation

Attend William Jewell College’s introduction to campus life. New student orientation takes place immediately before classes begin and is designed to familiarize new students with classmates, campus organizations, activities, facilities, faculty and staff. You'll be immersed in deeper aspects of The Critical Thinking College’s mission, participate in leadership and teamwork activities and learn about campus involvement opportunities.

Experience Jewell's Mentor Program

As a first-year student, you will be placed in a mentor group led by a carefully selected current student and mentor trained to help newcomers adjust to campus life. Your mentor will guide both you and your classmates through the four days of orientation designed to help Jewell begin to feel like home.

The mentor process launches weeks before you arrive on campus. Over the summer, your mentor will be in contact with you and your family to answer any of your questions (no matter how silly) and ease your anxieties. Each mentor is assigned to approximately 6-8 incoming students, assuring you each receive individualized attention. Upon arrival, your mentor will provide a helping hand and familiar face, leading you through every step from unloading your car on move-in day to Matriculation. Mentors remain in contact with new students throughout the first semester.
