Assistant Professor of Media and Communication

Biography

Ge Zhu is an Assistant Professor of Media and Communication in the Division of Business, Communication and Education. She teaches courses in strategic communication, includingStrategic Content Creation, Social Media & Digital Strategy, and Digital Media Analytics. She also has taught a range of communication courses, including Persuasion, Public Relations,Intercultural Communication, and Integrated Marketing Communication. Her teaching emphasizes strategic thinking and practical skills that prepare students for careers in strategic communication and digital media.

 

Dr. Zhu’s research examines the role of strategic messaging in shaping public health perceptions and behaviors. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she contributed to the CDC-funded Vaccine Confidence Network project, a national initiative focused on developing communication strategies to strengthen vaccine confidence. Her work has been published in journals including International Journal of Communication, Health Communication, and Critical Public Health. More recently, her research has expanded to examine how emerging media technologies are changing the ways people seek, evaluate, and use health information.
