CIPHER program: Cyber Internship Program for High School Education and Readiness
In 2025, William Jewell College launched CIPHER (Cyber Internship Program for High School Education and Readiness), a groundbreaking program designed to empower high school students with real-world cybersecurity experience and a head start in their cyber education. With CIPHER, students acquire the necessary skills to be workforce ready upon graduation and also acquire a head start on a cybersecurity bachelor’s degree at William Jewell College. Through CIPHER, you can earn college credit at Jewell while gaining hands-on cyber training, including the opportunity to achieve a Google Cybersecurity Professional Certification with faculty guidance from Jewell’s Cybersecurity Department.
As part of the program, our internship partners like Kansas City-based Cyber 429 provide invaluable, real-world experience through internships that immerse you in cutting-edge cybersecurity practices. We’re committed to preparing the next generation of cyber professionals by equipping students with the knowledge, skills and experience they need to thrive in this critical and ever-evolving field—all before graduating high school.
The program cost is $3,000, which includes all courses, certifications and your internship.
