Biography
In teaching the Spanish language and Hispanic literary and cultural studies, Dr. Lisenby challenges students to engage our world’s socio-cultural complexities. In 2026, he was named Director of Institutional Research at Jewell.
Dr. Lisenby was awarded a 2021 Literature Translation Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. His literary translations appear in Words Without Borders, Two Lines, Latin American Literature Today, The Mercurian, Exchanges, and Island in the Light. His academic publications on Cuban and Latin American literature and culture appear in A Contracorriente, Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispánicos, Afro-Hispanic Review, Chasqui, and elsewhere.
