The Entrepreneurial Leadership minor combines creativity, critical thinking, business skills, and leadership to help students navigate opportunities and create meaningful change. Students explore entrepreneurship through opportunity identification, design thinking, project management, change management, and hands-on experience.

Goals for Student Learning
Students develop an entrepreneurial mindset that encourages them to recognize opportunities, explore innovative approaches, and pursue positive change. They learn to approach challenges with curiosity and creativity while considering the risks and possibilities associated with new ideas.
Students develop practical skills for turning ideas into action. Through coursework in design thinking, prototyping, lean processes, project management, systems thinking, and change management, students learn how to develop solutions, evaluate approaches, and navigate the process of implementing change.
Students also develop the ability to evaluate opportunities through critical thinking and analytical inquiry. They learn to research problems, assess feasibility, consider resources and risks, and use evidence to make informed decisions.
Through the Entrepreneurial Field Experience, students apply their knowledge in an organizational or professional context. This experience allows students to practice entrepreneurial and leadership skills while working with real challenges and opportunities.
More About the Minor
The Entrepreneurial Leadership minor is designed to complement a student’s primary field of study. Students begin by developing an entrepreneurial mindset through coursework focused on personal development, opportunity identification, problem-solving, and risk assessment.
Students then build practical skills through marketing and additional coursework in areas such as design thinking, prototyping, project management, systems thinking, change management, entrepreneurial cash flow management, new venture creation, and leadership. This flexibility allows students to tailor the minor to their interests and goals.
The minor culminates in an Entrepreneurial Field Experience, where students apply their skills outside the traditional classroom. Students can connect entrepreneurial thinking to their major, career interests, an existing organization, or a new venture.
