  • Demonstrate basic mathematical understanding and computational skills in calculus, linear algebra and differential equations
  • Obtain the ability to explain and critique mathematical reasoning through speaking and writing in a precise, articulate manner with appropriate notation
  • Demonstrate the ability to read, write and interpret mathematical proofs
  • Demonstrate the ability to think critically and logically to apply mathematical skills in new contexts

Broaden Your Horizons

As a math student, you will have the opportunity to broaden your academic scope with a double major. While most any major is an option, recent students have selected a second major in physics, chemistry, economics, civil engineering, dual-degree engineering and psychology.

*If you would like to be certified to teach mathematics in grades 9-12 in the State of Missouri, you will complete a major in secondary education and a minor in mathematics.
