Faith and Culture Scholarships

Explore the connection between faith, purpose and your future.

The Christian Fellows Scholarship is designed for students who take their Christian faith seriously and want to explore how it can shape their education, career, calling and relationships with others.

Your Experience

Christian Fellows participate in opportunities that encourage spiritual exploration, meaningful conversation and service. Experiences may include:

• Small groups and study groups
• Service-learning opportunities
• Partnerships with local congregations
• Possible internships
• Student-led worship and ministry opportunities
• Conversations across Christian and interfaith traditions

While the program can support students considering ministry, it is not limited to students pursuing ministry as a career. Christian Fellows pursue majors throughout the College while exploring how faith can inform their life’s work and vocation.

Program Requirement

Christian Fellows Scholarship recipients are expected to complete the Faith and Culture minor alongside their primary area of study.

Apply for the Scholarship

Use your musical gifts to help build a worship community at Jewell.

The Worship Leader Scholarship is designed for students with experience in worship leadership who want to continue developing those talents as part of the Christian Fellows Program.

Your Experience

Worship Leaders participate in Christian Fellows and help lead Jewell’s weekly student-led worship service through music. Students have opportunities to contribute their musical abilities while developing as leaders within Jewell’s faith community.

Eligibility and Requirements

Applicants should have a strong academic record and previous experience leading worship in a local church or similar setting.

Students interested in the Worship Leader Scholarship must:

• Apply and qualify for admission to William Jewell College
• Complete the required scholarship application
• Audition through Jewell’s music program
• Participate in the Christian Fellows Program

A letter of reference from the applicant’s pastor is strongly recommended.

Apply for the Scholarship

Bring your piano talent into Jewell’s Christian Fellows community.

The Christian Fellows Piano Scholarship is designed for incoming first-year students who want to use their piano skills as part of the Christian Fellows Program and student-led worship at Jewell.

Your Experience

Piano Scholars combine continued musical development with active participation in Christian Fellows. Scholarship recipients are required to:

• Take private piano lessons
• Participate in an ensemble
• Perform with the Christian Fellows praise band as their required ensemble
• Participate in the Christian Fellows community

The praise band is student-led through Christian Fellows and provides students with an opportunity to use their musical talents in worship and campus ministry.

Eligibility & Requirements

To be considered for the Christian Fellows Piano Scholarship, students must:

• Apply and qualify for admission as an incoming first-year Jewell student (Freshman or Transfer)
• Complete the Talent Scholarship Application

Complete the Talent Application

• Audition on piano through Jewell’s music program
• Interview with Christian Fellows

A minor in Faith and Culture is strongly recommended but not required for Piano Scholarship recipients.

Students may apply for the Christian Fellows Piano Scholarship at any point during their Jewell admission process. Complete the Talent Scholarship Application and piano audition to be considered.

Scholarship availability is limited. Students interested in this opportunity are encouraged to apply and complete their audition early.
